I can not believe it but Max is already 6 months old as of yesterday. He has gotten to be so big to me. But when I took him in to see the doctor that is when I realize he really is a small baby. So small that he could pass for being a four month old. Max weigh in at 14 lbs and 1.5 oz. that falls into the 5th percentile. He is 25 inches long which falls into the 7th percentile. Last time he was in the 5oth percentile. They think that maybe he was measure wrong last time. We measure him three times today and he is very much 25 inches long. Max's head is 42 cm long so that fits into the 10 percent group. Poor kid. My sister told me today that when her baby at 4 months old his weight was 15 lbs and 25 inches long. They are little worried about Max's weight so we are going to try to feed him as much as he can take. They don't want him to go below the 5th percentile. We are also getting his tongue clipped on the 6th of October. They are wondering if he is not able to eat as well because he is tongue tied. If he is not able to gain weight from getting it clipped at least he will be able to stick out his tongue.
Here is the list of the amazing things that Max can do now.
*Scoot with one arm. He only pulls with his right arm so it looks like he has a limp
* He doesn't hit himself in the head anymore with his toys. (Ok so maybe he still does but it is getting better)
*Rolls everywhere
*Sit up
*Eat Solids
*Scoot over towards you when he want to be held
*Laugh all the time
*Blow raspberries (he will try to give you raspberries on the belly after you do it to him. It is the cutest thing)
*Sleep through the night at least for the last week.
*Make funny noises like he is chewing you out with a mad look on his face.
*Make popping noises with his lips. He is doing this all the time now.
* Wants to be part of the group. If he knows something fun is going on outside his bedroom he much rather be a part of the group and not sleeping.
*He is very happy
*He is very smart. He knows when you give him a uncool xbox controller because it is not your xbox controller. Or if you give him a laptop that does not work. He knows that it is not real!
Here are some recent pictures of our Max. Enjoy!

Taken last week

Taken on Sunday (the apple does not fall far from the tree) :)

He likes to sleep with one of his limbs sticking out of the crib.
Our first kid was in the 5th and 10th percentile for a long time, too. I felt like a huge failure as a mother when the pediatrician started asking questions like, "How many wet diapers does she have a day?" and "How long does she nurse, and how many times a day?" But our kid was just petite. She has since jumped up to the 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight (her big growth spurt kicked in at about 18 months), so all is well. As long as your kid is happy, don't stress too much.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Natalia always ranged from the 3-5th percentile. Our doctor just said she's petite and just wanted to make sure she followed her little growth curve. (She was in the 75th percentile for head so what she lacked in weight she made up for in her head! Dan called her a bobblehead). I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just make sure he's eating well.
ReplyDeleteHe is way cute! It was fun to read the post! Post more soon!
