Happy Halloween

What is not to love about Halloween: Candy, dressing up, free lunch (Mikey's work knows how to party), pumpkins, decorating, parties, and much more. I love Halloween. We started off the season at our ward Halloween party. I worked on our costumes all that day. We were in fact a little late to the party because of it. We arrived and to our dismay none of the adults had on costumes. We were very disappointed. In our last ward I don't remember anyone not in costume. So it totally took me by surprise that people do not dress up for the Halloween party! Oh well at least we supported our ward and the kids were all dressed up.

On Friday Mikey's work had a little party for their employees. The families of the managers were able to come. It was fun to see all the employees dressed up for Halloween. They provided subs for lunch.

That night Mikey and I had a little party that we had a few friends over. We had ham and funeral potatoes for dinner. We played the game to "To Tell the Truth". We than made haunted houses. Mikey's brother Matthew is known for making towers. He made the highest haunted house. Our team made a smaller house with lots of zombies and ghosts. It was fun seeing our friends again.

On Halloween I made my dinner in a pumpkin. Which Mikey hates. I make it anyways because I think it is fun. We also had loads of trick or treaters. We had to go to the store and buy more candy. I love Halloween because it just a fun holiday.

For Halloween we were Mario, Yoshi (which I couldn't find a dinosaur costume so I used a frog's costume and turned into a dinosaur. Everyone still thought he was a frog) and Princess Peach.

The Year of Doctors

This year Mikey and I have decided that it is the year of Doctors. I can't even count how many times I have been to the doctors with having Max. This week I took Max in to get his tongue clipped. He did so good with getting his tongue clipped. I was very proud of him. I guess with clipping the tongue it is better if the baby is crying. Max being the happiest baby did not cry. He was just smiling away. They had to do some tricks to get him to cry so they could clip it. After the clip he cried for less than five minutes and was happy for the rest of the day smiling at anyone who would look at him. He did bleed a little through out the day. We think that he might need it a little more clipped because he still can not stick his tongue out of his mouth but at least he can move his tongue to the side of his mouth. He couldn't do that before. I know that the Doctors don't view clipping the tongue as something that is necessary but I do. How is he going to play in the band without the movement of his tongue? Shouldn't every child be able to stick their tongue out with they get in a fight with their sibling?

Mikey is now adding to the number of doctor visits. He is just plain sick of getting tonsil stones. I don't blame him because it is just gross. So we have decided that since it is getting worse we are going to get his tonsils removed and he is also going to have nose surgery. The nose surgery is to open up his air way so that he can breath a little better. I guess he has a lot of extra bone in his nose. Mikey is hoping that he will be able to sleep better with having his nose being clear and will be less tired. I wish that I could have a simple surgery like that so that I will not be tired all the time.

We also are seeing a new dentist! He is telling us a mile long list of problems. We are going to get second opinion.

Some other things are happening. Max is very good a scooting across the floor. He also is starting to like scooting underneath things for example: Chairs, tables, coffee tables and much more. He is also starting to eat solids a little better. He does not blow raspberries with every bite now!

What happened?

I can not believe it but Max is already 6 months old as of yesterday. He has gotten to be so big to me. But when I took him in to see the doctor that is when I realize he really is a small baby. So small that he could pass for being a four month old. Max weigh in at 14 lbs and 1.5 oz. that falls into the 5th percentile. He is 25 inches long which falls into the 7th percentile. Last time he was in the 5oth percentile. They think that maybe he was measure wrong last time. We measure him three times today and he is very much 25 inches long. Max's head is 42 cm long so that fits into the 10 percent group. Poor kid. My sister told me today that when her baby at 4 months old his weight was 15 lbs and 25 inches long. They are little worried about Max's weight so we are going to try to feed him as much as he can take. They don't want him to go below the 5th percentile. We are also getting his tongue clipped on the 6th of October. They are wondering if he is not able to eat as well because he is tongue tied. If he is not able to gain weight from getting it clipped at least he will be able to stick out his tongue.

Here is the list of the amazing things that Max can do now.
*Scoot with one arm. He only pulls with his right arm so it looks like he has a limp
* He doesn't hit himself in the head anymore with his toys. (Ok so maybe he still does but it is getting better)
*Rolls everywhere
*Sit up
*Eat Solids
*Scoot over towards you when he want to be held
*Laugh all the time
*Blow raspberries (he will try to give you raspberries on the belly after you do it to him. It is the cutest thing)
*Sleep through the night at least for the last week.
*Make funny noises like he is chewing you out with a mad look on his face.
*Make popping noises with his lips. He is doing this all the time now.
* Wants to be part of the group. If he knows something fun is going on outside his bedroom he much rather be a part of the group and not sleeping.
*He is very happy
*He is very smart. He knows when you give him a uncool xbox controller because it is not your xbox controller. Or if you give him a laptop that does not work. He knows that it is not real!

Here are some recent pictures of our Max. Enjoy!
Taken last week

Taken on Sunday (the apple does not fall far from the tree) :)

He likes to sleep with one of his limbs sticking out of the crib.

Saying Goodbye

Mikey and I had to say goodbye to a good friend. This friend of ours was with Mikey throughout school. He travel with him to St. George to do the Subway. He went up to Logan, and Wyoming. I met him in in the summer of 2007. He since then went up to Bear Lake, Layton numerous of times, and camping outings. Lets not forget the little places that we would go to. Macey's, Walmart, Namifiers, football games, the park. The last trip was up Fairview Canyon. I am sorry that you just could not make the trip back. We were heartbroken. You have been very good to us throughout the years. I am sorry that we had to put you down to sleep.

We now have a new friend who we are excited to take to new and far off places. Our new friend is easy to to like. It has everything we could of hope for. Navagation system, rear camera, DVD player, leather memory seats, seat warmers, blue tooth, bose speakers, 4wheel drive, automatic windshield wippers, automatic lights, and much more.

Our new Acura MDX.

Random

Here are some random pictures that I thought I would also include that I found while cleaning out our camera.

This is from my Baby Shower. This was me about two weeks before Max was born.

These photos are from when Mikey went to LA to pick up the Ragnar shirts for the big race from Logan to Park City

Here is a picture that Mikey took of me today. While I was pretending to be a photographer taking family pictures of my sister Michelle. I will have to post the pictures that I took some other day because they are saved on my sister's laptop. I think that I did get some good shots :)

Bear Lake

Every year my family does a little family reunion up at Bear Lake. I just love it. We just have a blast. We all normally arrive on a Friday night and we camp at Sunset campground. On Saturday we go down to the Lake and just have some family fun. We normally try to bring games. This year my brother bought the game koob. I don't have any pictures of that game but it was very fun to watch and play. We also rented a jet ski. Unfortunately my brother Scott's boat was not working but we sure had fun anyways. My brother Steve bought up his kayak. I have never been on of those it was blast. I did struggle a little on getting the boat to go where I wanted it to go but it was sure fun rowing the kayak around. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Old News Our house

I was cleaning out our camera and I found these photos that we took when we first fell in love with our house. I love my kitchen!
